The first incarnation of this instrument was called “The Singing House” and was developed in the summer of 2011 to be part of a huge New Orleans sound installation with Delaney Martin, artist SWOON, NEW ORLEANS AIRLIFT, and MUSIC BOX (Dithyramblina).
approximately 10 to 12 artists were asked to build “musical house” installations on a vacant lot in upper 9th Ward New Oreleans. Upon completion Quintron conducted several loose orchestral improvisations featuring improvisers from around the world playing on the musical shacks.
